The Air Force will increase career development opportunities for employees at the GS-12 and -13 levels, after a review of developmental programs revealed a shortfall in those aimed at those levels.
The new Organizational Leader Course “will build upon leadership skills obtained at previous courses to grow and develop today’s civilians into tomorrow’s leaders and supervisors,” the Air Force said.
Initially, a targeted group will make up the first six classes of the one-week, in-resident course, with the first class starting in May. The course later will be incorporated into the 2018 civilian developmental education process.
Supervisors will be encouraged to advertise and promote these opportunities, an announcement said. Applications will be made through the Air Force’s internal myPers portal, where there is further information.
