The Air Force has assigned career fields to its employees,
applying the career development approach traditionally
used for military personnel to its civilian workers.
Each civilian position has been assigned to a career field
regardless of series, grade, or pay plan and a Career
Field ID has been attached to each position, and each has
been assigned a point of contact for career counseling.
