The Air Force has started sending automatic reminders to supervisors ahead of key dates when certain actions involving their subordinates are due.
Notifications will be sent 45 days and then again 20 days in advance of deadlines for actions such as certifying a within-grade increase, completing an appraisal for such an increase, or certifying a career promotion. First- and second-level supervisors will also be notified when temporary or limited appointments or temporary promotions are near expiration, according to the Air Force Personnel Center.
Pre-existing weekly reports will continue, but the earlier notice will allow supervisors to act earlier and avoid mistakes such as erroneous payments, the announcement said.
