The three pay bands for supervisors and managers in the
standard career group, protective services, or medical
categories range from GS 7-1 to GS 11-10, with a salary
range of $30,567 to $58,811; GS 12-1 to GS 14-10, with
a salary range of $54,221 to $140,006; and, GS 14-1 to
15-10, with a salary range of $76,193 to $122,342.
The three pay bands for supervisors and managers in the
scientific and engineering categories run from GS 7-1 to
11-10, with a salary range of $30,567 to $58,811; GS 12-1
to GS 14-10, with a salary range of $54,221 to $104,006;
and, GS 13-5 to GS 15-10, with a salary range of $73,074
to $122,342.
According to the overview, there are four categories for
setting pay, staring with the first assignment anywhere
in the pay band. Next, promotions range from a 6 percent
minimum to a 20 percent maximum, unless more than that is
needed to reach the minimum rate for a new pay band.
Setting pay based on reassignment is to be considered
discretionary, as are reductions in bands that are not
the result of performance or conduct issues, according
