The results meanwhile showed a mixed bag of results regarding talent management, which OPM said showed "modest improvement" from the 2006 survey.
In particular, employees raised concerns with their work unit’s ability to recruit people with the right skills, with only 45 percent responding positively. Training was another concern of many employees: only 53 percent believed their training needs are assessed, and only 55 percent are satisfied with the training they receive.
However, responses were more positive in some related areas: 62 percent believe their talents are used well in the workplace, 64 percent said they are given a real opportunity to improve their skills in their organization, 65 percent said their supervisors or team leaders support employee development, and 74 percent said their workforce has the job-relevant knowledge and skills needed to accomplish organizational goals.
