The GPO has launched, somewhat ahead of schedule, a new site for reports agencies are required to send to Congress under the Congressionally Mandated Reports Act, making such reports available at a central location for the first time.

At the startup, 128 reports from nine agencies were posted in areas ranging from VA medical care to marine and coastal resources, and from land use to small business. The site allows searches by agency as well as by topic

The GSA earlier had set up a portal for agencies to open accounts. As of the launch, 88 accounts had been opened by 53 agencies.

While not all types of reports required by Congress must be submitted to the portal, those subject to the requirement now must be submitted there in addition to the prior channels for sending those reports to Congress as a whole and to its committees and subcommittees.
