The Federal Chief Information Officers Council has announced a free IT quarterly forum hosted by the General Services Administration’s Office of Technology Strategy and the CIO Council’s IT Workforce Committee covering project management.
Led by Karen Pica, acting director of the Federal Acquisition Institute and leader of the Project Management Certification Working Group, the forum offers the opportunity to learn more about the process used to review existing models and programs both within the federal government and across the private sector; how the CIO Council and other communities have participated in the process; and, how training money may be available for anyone considered to be involved in the acquisition process through the Services Acquisition Reform Act.
The working group will be making recommendations this fall on the establishment of certification programs for program and project managers. The CIO Council has asked for input.
The forum will be held from 1:30 pm — 4:30 pm on July 13, in GSA’s Central Office Auditorium, located at 1800 F St., NW, Washington D.C.
