Federal Manager's Daily Report

The chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Tom Carper, D-Del., released a statement in response to the framework’s release, calling for widespread adoption.

“Thanks to these efforts, companies now have a common, but flexible path forward to better secure their systems and also a meaningful way to measure their progress,” Carper said, adding, “We must now focus like a laser on ensuring widespread implementation of the framework in order to effectively protect our national and economic security.”

He said the framework is a positive step, but maintains that new legislation is needed to address the growing threat of cyber attacks.
