Federal Manager's Daily Report

The White House has published the members of a government-wide task force that will be charged with driving the administration’s data center consolidation initiative.

The task force – comprising center program managers, facilities managers, and sustainability officers from 24 agencies — will try to meet a minimum target of 800 data center closures by 2015 and to share progress toward individual agency goals, according to OMB.

It said the task force would meet monthly to review progress on consolidation projects and ensure government-wide alignment between agency efforts, and evolve into a community through which agency CIOs and data center program managers can share best practices and enhance consolidation effectiveness.
