Federal Manager's Daily Report

DHS has launched a website designed to solicit feedback from the public and interested stakeholders on ways to enhance transparency, participation, collaboration and innovation at the department.

It said ideas submitted to dhs.gov/open – online until March 19 — would help guide the development of its open government plan, called for under a White House directive issued in December.

All agencies are expected to develop and publish such a plan by March 8 on ways they can improve transparency and integrate public participation and collaboration into its activities.

For its online participation tool – a requirement under the White House directive – DHS went with a free online community forum implementation provided through GSA.

GSA announced recently that it was providing the tool – from IdeaScale – free of charge, including technical support.
