The cyber security division of the Department of Homeland Security has unveiled an alert system designed to protect information systems. It relies on email warnings and a range of practical instruction and information for computer users.
The system, which will alert technical staff in government agencies to security vulnerabilities and how to respond to them, is the first attempt at a broad infrastructure for relaying graded computer security information, says DHS.
