The EEOC has issued a call for proposals for presentations at its annual flagship training conference, the Examining Conflicts In Employment Law, or EXCEL, conference.
“We seek EEO/HR professionals, industry consultants, academics, attorneys, professional speakers and trainers, and industry suppliers who can provide education, training, and professional development to expand the knowledge base of the attendees, and provide solutions to new challenges, best practices, or trends. Attendees should leave with the practical knowledge, ideas, and tools to help them succeed in their jobs and bring value to their organizations,” an announcement said.
Potential topics might include eliminating barriers in recruitment and hiring; pay equity; racial and systemic discrimination; algorithms and AI; retaliation; sexual orientation and gender identity; and issues regarding workers affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, including under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.
Also, employment discrimination associated with the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including Long COVID; future of telework and remote work; discrimination influenced by or arising as backlash in response to local, national, or global events; technology-related employment discrimination; and investigations, federal sector processes, and conflict resolution.
Proposals are due by April 5. Dates and location of the conference are still to be announced.
