The EEOC has opened registration its main annual training conference, the EXCEL (Examining Conflicts in Employment Law) conference, which will be held August 20-22, in New Orleans, with a theme of “60 Years of the Civil Rights Act: Pursuing Justice / Celebrating Progress.”

“Attendees will learn about the latest developments from leading EEO/HR professionals, industry consultants, academics, attorneys, professional speakers and trainers, and industry suppliers,” an announcement says.

The conference will offer continuing education credits for HR Certification Institute, Society for Human Resource Management, and Continuing Legal Education. Attendees seeking 8-hour refresher credits for investigators and counselors can register for an August 19 preconference.

“The pre-conference and workshop sessions will cover employment topics including harassment in the workplace and the EEOC’s newly updated guidance, eliminating barriers in recruitment and hiring; pay equity; racial and systemic discrimination; AI and algorithmic fairness; emerging and developing issues regarding workers affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, including under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA); and discrimination influenced by or arising as backlash in response to local, national, or global events,” it says.
