The Office of Naval Research is seeking a qualified
individual to manage sponsored basic/applied research,
and advanced technology development programs and
projects in the broad area of human factors. The
sponsored efforts are conducted principally at U.S.
universities and industry or Federal laboratories.
This is a Federal Civil Service position at the
GS-13/14/15 level ($77,353 – $139,774) depending on
individual qualifications.
The position requires knowledge and experience in the
fundamental theories, concepts, and current-state-of-the
art research and/or technology development in the
broad area of human factors including, but not limited
to, human decision making, organizational design and
architectures, models for human-computer interaction,
including computational models of human cognitive
processing.
Applicants should have experience in preparing
publication-quality reports of research and/or development
in the area of human systems as evidenced by a record of
publication in referred scientific journals. Also
desirable are skills in transitioning the products of
research and development effort to use in operations
or acquisition, as evidenced by a record of successful
hand-off of at least one R&D product to an operational
or acquisition program and subsequent use of the product
in that program, or equivalent (e.g., commercial, academic)
private sector experience.
