The Office of Personnel Management has scheduled a seminar
for April 19-23 for experienced managers, policy analysts,
and technical specialists or other senior program staff
who are involved in regulatory policy development and
decision-making or who need a broader policy overview.
Given at the Western Management Development Center in Denver,
“Federal Regulatory Policy, Principles of Regulatory
Development and Reform,” is designed to cover the political,
scientific, social, and economic issues that shape
regulatory development.
Through a combination of classroom discussions, case
analysis, and role-playing simulations, participants are
offered insight into how rules are structured and how to
assess their effectiveness or unforeseen impacts.
Sessions include an examination of the rulemaking process,
including Executive Branch efforts at regulatory reform,
the conduct of regulatory analyses including cost-benefit
tests, and the Executive Order 12866, “Regulatory Planning
and Review” process.
The $2,600 fee includes meals, lodging, tuition and course
materials. Learn more and register at
