Federal Manager's Daily Report

Federally Employed Women, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy group, has stated disappointment with "low compliance" regarding the reporting requirements in a management directive covering affirmative programs of equal employment opportunity.

"These reporting requirements are an important indication of how well agencies are achieving equal employment for all federal workers," said FEW president Sue Webster.

"With only half of the agencies submitting reports, the public, federal workers and potential applicants have no way of knowing which agencies are working the hardest to ensure the employment and advancement of women and minorities," she added.

In its annual report on the federal workforce, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reported that just 84 of 167 federal entities filed reports in compliance with management directive 715 in fiscal 2006, about half. That’s a decrease from 68 percent in fiscal 2005, FEW noted.
