The Federal Acquisition Service has announced 18 blanket purchase agreements for a new strategic sourcing solution designed to help federal agencies purchase janitorial and sanitation (JanSan) supplies at an average discount of 15.9 percent below standard government pricing.
The federal government spends about $1.2 billion a year on JanSan products, and GSA says the contract could help save $8 million, and possibly $20 million a year going forward.
The JanSan procurement was created based on agency customer requirements and feedback from the supplier and small business communities, GSA said, adding that it is currently facilitating the development of 10 new strategic sourcing solutions.
