GSA has announced that it turned over presidential transition headquarters to president-elect Barack Obama.
Under the presidential transition act of 1963, GSA is responsible for providing the new Administration with office space, IT, furniture, equipment, and other logistical support.
The 120,000 square foot space is in downtown Washington D.C., and is fully furnished and computer-equipped.
"Our team has worked more than two years to complete this headquarters and help facilitate the orderly transfer of executive power," added transition director Gail Lovelace.
