OMB has designated GSA’s building maintenance and operations contract as the first “best-in-class” category management contracting vehicle, GSA has announced.
It said best-in-class is a new designation based on performance criteria in OMB category management guidance: rigorous requirements definitions and planning processes; appropriate pricing strategies; data-driven demand management strategies; category and performance management practices; and independent validation and reviews.
“The building maintenance and operations strategic sourcing solution, created to address the most common and highest-need requirements for federal facilities maintenance, is accessible for all federal agencies to get all-inclusive complete facilities maintenance or single-service trade work,” GSA said.
Key features include the potential to substantially decrease duplication and inefficiencies, scope requirements tailored for small businesses, standardized data elements and formats allowing easier and more efficient comparisons of proposals, and stakeholder integration, said GSA.
