The General Services Administration has announced it will
issue this spring a request for proposals from disabled
veteran-owned small businesses seeking to provide IT
services to federal agencies.
The “veterans technology services” 10-year contract would
help federal agencies meet a statutory three-percent
goal for contracting with those businesses, according to
GSA Administrator Stephen A. Perry.
The government-wide acquisition contract would likely be
awarded to multiple companies early in 2006, and focus
on information systems engineering and systems operations
maintenance — both would include IT security, said GSA.
It said agencies would have options to accomplish their
work through these “multiple award-indefinite
delivery-indefinite quantity” contracts through which
agencies award task orders including final prices once
they determine exactly they need.
