OPM has issued a fact sheet on overtime pay and compensatory time off benefits for Schedule C employees, saying that since many such employees are new to the government, it is especially important for managers and supervisors to communicate agency and government-wide policies in these areas to those employees.
"While it is legal and appropriate for Schedule C employees to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off under the normal rules that apply to most other federal employees, supervisors are expected to be judicious in their use for all employees," an accompanying memo says.
