Federal Manager's Daily Report

The House is set to vote this week on two bills aimed at increasing transparency of agency operations and one to enhance powers of IGs.

HR-4809 would require an agency to publish a guidance document on its website on the day the guidance document is issued, collect and post all guidance documents issued by an agency during the last 10 years, and indicate when any guidance document is rescinded.

HR-4887 would require OMB along to establish government-wide data standards for information reported by grant recipients, issue guidance directing agencies to apply those standards, and require the publication of recipient-reported data collected from all agencies on a single public website.

HR-4917 would empower inspectors general to issue testimonial subpoenas for contractors, grant recipients, and former federal employees, as they deem necessary.
