Federal Manager's Daily Report

The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, the central body of the IG community, has presented its annual awards to individuals and teams including:

A DHS team that conducted covert testing of TSA’s passenger screening technologies and processes at airport security checkpoints.

An Agriculture Department team that found violations food safety standards that resulted in the recall of 8.7 million pounds of potentially contaminated beef.

Labor Department special agent Michelle Stickler, for “performing a heroic act of bravery that warranted decisive action while in the face of personal danger and prevented what could have resulted in the death of an individual.”

National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency assistant inspector general for inspections Frank S. Chase, for career achievement over a 38-year career.

Khalid Hasan, senior office of inspector general manager at the Federal Reserve Board for work to update and improve the reporting metrics under the Federal Information Security Modernization Act.

The Federal Audit Executive Council’s digital accountability and transparency act working group, for leading the IG community’s initial response to the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act.

In addition, some 80 awards for excellence were made to IG offices of numerous agencies in the areas of auditing, evaluations, investigations, information technology, law and legislation, and others.
