The MSPB has announced an upcoming upgrade to its electronic appeal system, which will offer “an enhanced e-filing experience for our appellants, appellant representatives, and agency representatives.”

The current e-Appeal Online system will remain operative through September 8, it said, but starting the following day through October 1, users will not be able to file new appeals or pleadings and the MSPB will suspend the processing of all cases. All filing and processing deadlines from September 9 through October 6 will be extended by 28 days.

“This extension applies to all deadlines before MSPB, including those at the initial appeal and petition for review levels. The extension is automatic, so parties will not be required to request it or show good cause for an extension,” it said. However, “Filing time limits of external reviewing authorities (e.g., federal courts and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) are not extended.”

Ahead of the new system’s go-live date of October 2, the MSPB will provide information to parties with pending cases on how to access the system, it said.
