OPM has announced the formation of a centralized SES program office to consolidate program functions taking place in multiple offices.
"Fully supporting this dynamic talent pool requires OPM to implement new mechanisms that maximize the potential of these executives within the federal workforce,” said OPM director John Berry, adding, “The establishment of a centralized SES office will increase the efficiency of our efforts to better serve federal agencies and build a world-class workforce."
According to OPM, the new office will provide a framework for federal agencies to operate the SES program and will conduct outreach to stakeholders such as the Senior Executives Association and executive resource managers.
Outreach will include providing forums for agency executive resources specialists and leading workshops and roundtables on leadership development topics, and the office also will manage the qualifications review board and provide recommendations on the requests for agency SES, senior level, and senior technical position allocations, certification of senior performance appraisals systems and candidate development programs, said OPM.
