The Partnership for Public Service is accepting nominations through January 5 for the 2024 Service to America awards, or Sammies, a top annual honor for federal employees.

Individual or group nominees should demonstrate “a strong commitment to federal service; a significant accomplishment that meets the needs of the people in this country or around the world; or excellence in innovation, customer service or leadership to achieve results,” the announcement says.

Categories include federal employee of the year, career achievement, emerging leaders, safety, security and international affairs, management excellence, and science, technology and environment.

Finalists are announced each May during Public Service Recognition Week and winners are announced in the fall. A people’s choice award also is granted, based on a public vote on the finalists after they are announced.
