The Army is accepting nominations for two awards, the Roger W.
Jones Award For Executive Leadership and the William A. Jump
Memorial Foundation Award.
The Jones Award is granted to career executives of the Federal
government who have “made a difference” by demonstrating superior
leadership, which resulted in outstanding organizational achievement
and strong commitment to the effective continuity of government by
successfully bringing about the development of managers and
executives. Information on applying is at
spa.american.edu. Nominations must
be forwarded through command channels to the Executive Secretary,
Army Incentive Awards Board, ATTN: DAPE-CP-ESO, Room
2C453, 300 Army Pentagon, Washington, DC 203l0-0300 no
later than December 17.
The Jump Award is for federal civilian career employees who have
not reached their 37th birthday by December 31 of the year in which
the nominations are submitted are eligible and who have shown, over
a period of at least 5 years in either a line or staff position, unusual
competence and interest in any area of public administration,
leadership in the direction or development of programs, creativity and
resourcefulness, adherence to the basic principles of enlightened public
service, integrity and dedication to duty. Nominations must be
forwarded through command channels to the same address as above,
no later than March 31, 2005.
