DoD has revamped the performance appraisal application, the electronic tool that supports the national security personnel system performance management process, which many managers found unwieldy and not user-friendly during the first round of performance evaluations under NSPS last year. The new version is targeted for release in August.
What DoD calls PAA Version 2.0 aims to correct issues that users had with the first version, including the complexity of the training manuals, lack of useful support from helpdesks and local HR offices, difficulty in operation, and inconsistent processes.
Improvements are to include improved navigation, easy-to-understand buttons, links, and terms, simpler screen layouts, improved report printing, more space to write assessments, added fields for recommended shares and payout distribution, and quick user guides.
