Federal Manager's Daily Report

The National Treasury Employees Union, which represents headquarters employees of the National Park Service, has won an election to be the exclusive labor representative for 1,300 NPS employees in the National Capital Region, reportedly winning 91 percent of votes cast.

The covered employees work in parks and historic sites throughout Washington, D.C. and the greater metro area and include park rangers, gardeners, maintenance workers and other tradesmen. The Federal Labor Relations Authority conducted the three-week election. If results are certified, the employees will form an NTEU chapter, elect officers and begin the process of bargaining an initial contract with the agency.
