President Obama has announced three deputy associate directors of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs from the Obama-Biden campaign and transition teams.

Jodi Archambault Gillette served as the North Dakota First American Vote director for the Obama campaign and is a member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. She has also directed the Native American Training Institute, a tribally operated non-profit organization.

Nicholas Rathod, a civil rights attorney, served as the director of intergovernmental affairs for the Obama transition project. Rathod has also worked as the deputy director of the Federal Affairs Office for Governor David Paterson, D-NY, and as senior manager of State and regional affairs for the Center for American Progress.

Michael Blake worked on the Obama campaign beginning in March 2007 as Iowa’s deputy political director and constituency outreach director. Blake has also served as the director of external affairs for the Michigan House of Representatives.
