The Office of Government Ethics has scheduled five free
introductory ethics courses from August 17 — 31 in suite 500,
5th floor, 1201 New York Avenue, NW Washington DC, 20005.
The first course demonstrates how to complete a technical
review and conflict of interest analysis of each of the five
parts of a confidential financial disclosure report.
The second, “Gifts Between Employees,” is designed to help
participants determine who it is ok to give gifts to and receive
them from, and know when its ok to solicit, or make contributions
for a gift.
Another course on gifts from outside sources explores the
pitfalls of receiving gifts from outside sources and identifies
what constitutes prohibited gifts.
“Post employment,” provides an overview of the post-employment
statute – 18 U.S.C. 207 – as well as a step-by-step methodology
for analyzing post-employment situations.
Finally, a class on seeking employment helps participants
determine whether employees are participating personally and
substantially in a particular matter that would have a direct
and predictable effect on the financial interests of a
