The Office of Management and Budget has issued a memo
to agencies on preparing fiscal 2006 inventories of
commercial and inherently governmental activities,
required under the Federal Activities Inventory Reform
Act of 1998 and OMB Circular A-76.
The act requires agencies to submit inventories by June
30 each year and A-76 rules require agencies with more
than 100 full time employees to submit inventories of
inherently governmental activities, according to M-06-08.
It said however, that agencies with under 100 employees
still have to submit inventories if they plan to announce
competitions in fiscal 2006, 2007 or 2008.
