Federal Manager's Daily Report

The Office of Personnel Management has consolidated

its e-training programs within USALearning.gov.

Formerly known as GoLearn.gov, the new site combines

offerings and services of all three e-training

initiative service providers, FasTrac, NTIS, and

GoLearn, and had been renamed to align with USAJOBS,

said OPM.

It said that as of the third quarter of fiscal 2005,

900,000 courses across 123 government entities had

been completed through all the e-training systems

combined. The site offers many free online courses

available to federal employees.

As part of the consolidation, a new e-Training

Advisory Council will support OPM’s e-training project

manager by advising on the strategic direction of the

initiative, identifying how service providers can

support the initiative and agencies, as well as

analyzing industry practices and providing a forum

for agency HR leaders to resolve the challenges and

management of human capital, according to OPM.

“The council provides a valuable, unified voice in

tackling challenges that are faced by learning

practitioners and human capital managers in agencies

large and small,” said Jeff Pon, chair of the council

and acting project manager for the e-Training

Initiative.
