Federal Manager's Daily Report

OPM will host a Privacy Talent Summit at its headquarters September 14 for HR officials and managers who have recruiting and hiring responsibilities for agency privacy programs.

The summit flows from an executive order earlier this year that also created the Federal Privacy Council to help agencies recruit and hire privacy professionals, and provide a clear career path within federal privacy programs.

Topics will include classifying privacy work in the federal government; leveraging hiring authorities and flexibilities to select quality candidates; designing and using assessments to identify top privacy talent; recruiting top talent using effective job opportunity announcements; using USAJOBS tools to attract and recruit diverse, qualified applicants; and improving outreach, recruitment, and hiring outcomes to attract new privacy gen talent.

For those unable to physically attend, a conference call of the summit will be available but not a webcast, OPM said.
