By: FEDweek StaffOPM has issued, on performance.gov, the first quarterly status report on agency priority goals for the fiscal 2024-2025 cycle, including:
* Under the goal of supporting agencies in their personnel planning, OPM noted that the percentage of agency chief human capital officers who agree that OPM provides agencies with high-quality workforce data and information for decision-making decreased by one percentage point from 2023 to 2024. It cited steps in the first quarter including improvements in data quality, timeliness and support for personnel dashboards it hosts.
* Under the goal of positioning the government as the employer of choice for military and veteran spouses and early career talent, it cited guidance on workplace flexibilities such as offsite work, leave, work scheduling and more. “OPM also advanced efforts to update resource materials on military spouse employment and developed a calendar of events and training courses for an Intern Experience Program to engage interns government-wide,” it said.
* Under the goal of streamlining the hiring experience, it cited guidance to agencies on how to share lists of candidates and on selecting candidates from another agency’s list, the launch of six shared hiring actions, and coordinating recruitment of tech specialists for the hiring surge for artificial intelligence-related jobs.
* Under the goal of supporting the launch of the Postal Service Health Benefits program to replace the FEHB for Postal Service employees and retirees in 2025, it cited an electronic process and associated workflows to collect applications from carriers, selection of carriers to participate, and building a platform to support enrollment in the program during the open season upcoming in the autumn.
