The Office of Personnel Management has authorized special
workplace solicitations so federal employees can make a
one-time cash or check donation outside of the combined
federal campaign for disaster relief following the recent
Tsunami in South Asia.
It said the Agency for International Development specified
cash as the most efficient means for providing relief and
that agency and department heads may “promote charitable
giving and communicate to employees the contact information
of organizations providing disaster relief.”
Where the annual CFC has not yet concluded, employees can
contribute through payroll deductions or with a check to a
CFC participating organization.
