Speaking at the National Association of Hispanic Federal
Executives annual summit, Office of Personnel Management
Deputy Director Dan Blair, said more should be done to
attract Hispanics to the civil service.
OPM said the summit targeted Senior Executive Service members
and GS-15s, focusing on Hispanics and the strategic
management of human capital, building and improving
effective mentoring and training programs for Hispanics at
the GS 12-14 levels, and management accountability in
creating innovative approaches to recruiting, training, and
retaining Hispanics in the federal workforce.
Blair spoke of OPM efforts such as aggressive marketing and
recruiting for the new SES candidate development program,
the executive readiness program and the management fellows
program.
