By: FEDweek StaffThe latest quarterly updates on OPM’s activities toward its agency priority goals under the President’s Management Agenda, posted at performance.gov, include:
Under support for critical and urgent recruitment and hiring:
authorizing additional hiring flexibilities for agencies including direct hire authorities and dual compensation waivers for Agriculture, Commerce, HHS, Labor, Treasury, VA, EPA and the Surface Transportation Board; and conducting a webinar on using such authorities to agencies that have permitting responsibilities outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
Under promoting a data-driven hiring process:
establishing connectivity with several departments and agencies on a new reporting capability for Applicant Flow Data, talent acquisition data, and other OPM data products, although noting that it “continues to face impediments building connections between OPM and agencies that operate in another cloud environment.”
Under capitalizing on new workplace flexibilities to recruit:
developing content and connections for webinars and outreach sessions; and finalizing internship guidance for agencies.
Under developing DEIA dashboards:
completing the technical architecture needed and completing a draft of the agency data strategy for 2023-2026.
Under closing gender and racial pay gaps:
sending for OMB review draft regulations that would revise the criteria for making salary determinations based on salary history.
Under improving health insurance selection customer experience:
issuing a draft request for proposals that included requirements for a decision support tool and conducting focus groups of federal employees related to what they look for in selecting a plan and the most useful functions in selecting a plan.
