OPM has released its Government-wide Strategy on Advancing Pay Equality in the Federal Government, based on agency reviews of their pay and promotion policies and practices and an analysis of federal civilian workforce salary and other data.
OPM said it would be engaging agencies on a number of initiatives in the coming weeks and months and called on them to designate (by April 24) a point of contact that will coordinate the agency’s efforts in working with OPM to implement the classification, pay, data analysis, recruitment, and promotion policy initiatives.
OPM also is encouraging agencies with independent authority to establish salary tables or rate ranges outside of the GS or other government-wide pay systems to post their salary tables or rate ranges on their public websites with appropriate contact information. Agencies are being asked to certify that they have posted these salary tables or rate ranges, have a plan to do so, or explain why they cannot do so by submittinga certification form by early May.
