OPM, in partnership with GSA, has given telework.gov a makeover, improving usability and presenting what amounts to a walk through for employees who want to telework, or for managers and agency telework coordinators looking for a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities or to fill training needs.
There are links to a map of telework centers and instructions about how to go through an agency telework coordinator to get set up in one – which despite several years of legislative attempts and high-level support could prove more effective in standardizing and popularizing the practice.
"The launch of this updated website will allow government employees and managers a greater understanding of telework," OPM Director Linda Springer said.
"This user-friendly site provides an abundance of information, and allows users to get direct access to questions from telework experts,” she added.
Users can read and download recent telework guidance and legislation, reports, and studies, and if users cannot find what they are looking for using the site’s search function, they can email experts and get a response – contributing to an employee-as-customer feel.
