Federal Manager's Daily Report

OPM plans to relieve agencies of several reporting requirements on HR issues, proposing in the Federal Register to end requirement that agencies produce:

An annual report for the first three years of establishing a category rating system for hiring. OPM said that agencies have met that requirement, since most of them were required to set up such systems by November 2010.

A quarterly report on the use of buyout separation incentive payments. OPM said the data is out of date when received and that if needed, it can obtain that information more quickly from its central HR reporting database and can ask agencies to address their effectiveness in their annual performance reports.

A similar quarterly report on the use of “early outs”—formally, voluntary early retirement authority—for the same reasons.

An annual report on the use of child care subsidies; OPM said the level of interest in the topic does not justify regular reporting, but that OPM may require such reports as needed.
