GPO has published the “Plum Book" of positions available for presidential appointment – formally, United States Policy and Supporting Positions — in print, online and for the first time as an app.
The publication, issued every four years after a presidential election, lists more than 8,000 civil service leadership and support positions in the executive and legislative branches that may be subject to noncompetitive appointment. The positions are listed by agency, position title, location, appointment type, pay plan and level, tenure and term expiration, and vacancy.
