OPM is asking agencies for hiring projections for the Presidential Management Fellows program, through which agencies recruit graduate, law, and doctoral level students into high level positions, often meeting succession-planning needs and through which over 400 PMFs enter the federal government each year.
Although OPM is beginning the recruitment process for 2010, it sent a memo reminding agencies that over 300 fellows from the 2009 class remain available for immediate placement with graduate degrees in business, finance, environmental science, health administration, physical science, public administration and more.
It called on agencies to engage hiring managers and PMF coordinators in drafting their hiring projections through the program, which will be used to determine the number of finalists selected for 2010.
