By: FEDweek StaffPublic satisfaction with the services they receive from the federal government rose to 68.2 percent positive in the most recent American Consumer Satisfaction Index survey, up nearly two points from 2022 and nearly five points from 2021.
The 68.2 figure however remains below the recent peak of 69.7 in 2017, after which it slipped and then plunged in 2020 and 2021. It also remains well below the 71-72 range of the 2001-2007 period, which was the highest stretch in the past 25 years.
Of the four types of service that make up the cumulative score, ratings were highest for website services and general customer service, both 78 percent positive, while information stood at 72 percent and process was 70 percent.
As in prior years, the survey showed that by party, Democrats are most likely to be satisfied with government services, 71 percent positive, followed by Republicans, 67, independents, 66, and “other,” 56.
