The Office of Government Ethics has sent out a reminder
that annual public financial disclosure reports (SF 278)
for those required to file them must be submitted to
the appropriate department or agency no later than May
15. Each designated agency ethics official is to
ensure that each report filed is reviewed within sixty
days.
OGE said that all annual SF 278s filed by May should
be certified and submitted to OGE as soon as approved
by the agency or department, but no later than August
1. If agencies cannot certify the report within this
time frame, they must submit an uncertified report to
OGE and the certified report must be submitted to OGE
as soon as possible afterward.
