GSA’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center has awarded L-3 Communications a $357 million task order under the GSA Alliant contract vehicle for US Army Reserve IT support.
According to Business Wire, under the contract L-3’s National Security Solutions Group will provide software development, systems integration, distance learning and IT technical support services in support of the Reserve Component Automation System – RCAS.
The federal government’s IT Dashboard website describes RCAS as an automated information system that enhances the Army’s Reserve Components ability to achieve and sustain critical automation interoperability and accomplish unit mobilization planning and readiness, day-to-day operations, and administration. The investment timeframe is listed as 1996 – 2022 with fiscal 2013 spending at $69.43 million.
