Federal Manager's Daily Report

A national survey conducted on behalf of the Coalition for an Accountable Recovery has found wide support for public websites to track how funds are being spent and managed under the Recovery Act.

One coalition member, the Project on Government Oversight, noted that the desire for extensive transparency in the recovery package cuts across political lines, with at least 70 percent of Republicans, Democrats or Independents saying such accounting would yield an “important” benefit.

About 75 percent of respondents called for federal and state websites showing which companies and agencies are getting funds, what for, and the number and quality of jobs generated or preserved.
