Federal Manager's Daily Report

The Defense Information Systems Agency has announced the delivery of version 2.0 of theDoD Enterprise Portal Service – DEPS, on the Secret Internet Protocol Network – SIPRNet.

According to DISA, DEPSbuilds on Microsoft SharePoint to provide a scalable, cloud-based collaboration capability that enables mission partners to share information through independently managed community and mission-focused sites. DEPScould be used as a common platform to allow sharing document libraries, for example, or to provide secure access to shared resources – potentially helping to consolidate administrative, hardware, and software resources.

DEPS 2.0 introduces both dedicated and shared service offerings. Both offer the benefits of a DISA-managed common infrastructure, including security and data replication. Learn more at: http://www.disa.mil/News/Stories/2014/SIPR-DEPS

The 2.0 version for the Sensitive, but Unclassified Internet Protocol Network – NIPRNet, will be available in the third quarter of fiscal 2014.
