Federal Manager's Daily Report

The White House has issued a first quarterly update on its 14 cross-agency priority goals and 103 agency priority goals – areas where the administration is trying to focus senior leadership attention.

The first quarterly updates are now posted on Performance.gov. For example, they show Interior moving toward a goal of authorizing more production of solar, wind and geothermal energy on public lands by increasing approved capacity. Energy and Housing and Urban Development set a goal of enabling energy efficiency retrofits or energy efficient new construction of a total of 1.2 million housing units by 2013 and hit their target.

One cross-agency goal is facilitating 4G-wireless broadband coverage for 98 percent of Americans by 2016, which reached 80 percent last June up from 36 percent in 2010. However, OMB cautioned that slowed progress could result across a number of goals in the face of sequestration budget cuts.
