4.1 Percent Raise Advances

The full House Appropriations Committee has approved a spending measure setting the average January 2003 federal raise at 4.1 percent. The raise figure earlier was added in a subcommittee vote on the Treasury-Postal appropriations bill for the upcoming fiscal year. Meanwhile, the Senate Treasury-Postal subcommittee also approved a measure assuming a 4.1 percent raise. The measures now head for a full House vote and a vote in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
